7-25-2010 In the Potters Hands
Jeremiah 18:1-12. Pastor Joplin uses this Old Testiment passage to introduce the metaphor of the potter and the clay. The Lord is the Potter and we are the clay. Ultimately, it is the Potter who is in control; finding, preparing, shaping, forming and then firing the clay to turn something that was once just a useless piece of dirt in into a vessel that has value, that can be used for something. We are are all just clay to be transformed in the the Potter's hands.

Matthew 5:13-16. As Christians, we are called to shine The Light to the world; The Light being the word of God. Being a Christian, a follower of Christ, is so much more than just going to church every Sunday. We must be actively pursuing lives of righteousness.

6-6-2010 The Gospel of Genesis - Part 1
Genesis chapter 2, Adam and Eve. This is the first part of a multi-sermon series called, "The Gospel of Genesis". Pastor Joplin preaches about not only the historical accounts described in Genesis, but how to apply them to our lives. We learn about Gods power, compassion, mercy, wrath and judgment. He is an unchanging God and he is the same today as he was over 6,000 years ago.

5-30-2010 Triumphing Over the Tempter - Bro. Branson Sears
In Matthew chapter 4 Jesus was tempted by the Devil to serve the desires of the flesh instead of the Spirit. Brother Branson Sears reminds the church that in order to triumph over the tempter we must trust God and obey Him in everything at all times.

5-23-2010 If You Believe Then You Will See
John 11:21-26. The Lord is glorified when people first put their faith in Him and trust in His promises. That is because his promises are never false. In John chapter 11, Jesus reminds Martha that she must first believe in order to see the Glory of God.

5-16-2010 Leaving the Old Things Behind
Jesus told his disciples, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Though they were faithful to Him, Jesus found his disciples, on more than one occasion, retreating back to their old way of living; fishing for fish. When the Lord calls us to follow Him, we must not allow ourselves to slip back into our old way of living. We must embrace the new life we have in Him.

5-9-2010 The Step of Death
1 Samuel 20:3 and Luke 16:19-31. The final step in life is the step of death; when we pass from this earthly life into eternity. The Bible makes it clear that once a person dies, there is no going back, no second chances. Scripture also states that those who reject Jesus Christ will be cast into outer darkness for all eternity, but those who confess their sins and accept Him as their Lord and Savior will spend an eternity with Him him Heaven. Life is but a breath. Do not put off any longer the decision that will save your soul.

5-2-2010 There is Victory in the Valley of Beracah
Of all the times that the word "praise" is mentioned in the Bible, every instance indicates praise as being an outward expression of an inward gratitude. Praise is a powerful thing. "Valley of Beracah", literally means "Valley of Praise". Pastor Joplin explains how the Israelites watched as the Lord destroyed an enemy army before them, while the army of Israel stood by and did nothing except praise Him.

4-25-2010 Remembering Goliath's Sword
David, who had years earlier been anointed as King of Israel, was now running for his life and hiding in caves. From the world's point of view: David certainly did not look like the king of the greatest nation on earth. At one of David's most difficult situations of his life he went to the priest who inquired of the Lord on behalf of David. What was God's response: to give to David the sword of Goliath. God wanted David to remember all that God had done for him this far and remind him not to lose heart but to stand strong and behold the salvation of the Lord! What is it in your life that God never wants you to lose sight of?

4-18-2010 The Parable of the Soils
Matthew 13:1-16. A parable is a short story designed to teach a truth, principle or moral lesson. In the parable of the soils, the seed represents the Word of God and the soil represents the hearts of people that hear the Word of God. Pastor Joplin Emberson explains what the different types of soils in the parable represent and why it is so important to constantly sow the Seed everywhere.

4-11-2010 What Is It That You Seek
John 1:29-48. When John the Baptist singled out Jesus as "The One who will take away the sins of the world", people began following Him. Jesus confronted these people by asking, "What do you seek?". If you knock, the door will be opened to you. Seek and you will find. The men following Jesus sought the Son of God; and they found Him. Brother Branson Sears asks a question through this sermon, "What is it that you seek?"

4-11-2010 Lord Give Me Eyes to See
Deuteronomy 29:4. The Israelites had been wandering in the desert for forty years. As Moses spoke to them he he told them that, even though they had seen first-hand the Lord's miraculous intervention time and time again, they didn't have a heart to perceive nor eyes to see nor ears to hear. These are God's chosen people, and they still did not understand Who was guiding them.

4-4-2010 Man Destroys .. . But God Raises Up
John 2:14-22. Jesus begins his ministry by driving out from the temple the merchants who were using His Father's house as a place to do business. Instead of seizing the opportunity to share the Word of God with the Gentiles, these people were using it to turn a profit. When asked by what authority He had to cleanse the temple in such a manner, Jesus foretells his own death and resurrection.

3-28-2010 The Calling of God
I Thessalonians 2:12 and Exodus 3:1-10. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Why did He choose to call Moses to Himself by taking the form of a burning bush? It doesn't matter. His ways are higher than our ways. What matters is that WHEN he calls us, WHEN He chooses to capture our attention, we have a choice to make. We can choose to follow Him, or we can choose not to. What's your burning bush?

3-21-2010 You Have a Race to Run
Hebrews 12:1-4. We have a race to run. Using this metaphor, Paul writes to the Hebrew Christians and explains that we must "lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us." The stopwatch is our lifespan and the spectators are the saints that have gone before us. Every step of the race brings glory to the Lord and His kingdom.

3-14-2010 Make Your Choice
In I Kings 18:21 Elijah asks the people, "How long will you falter between two opinions?" He was speaking to people of Israel; many of whom hadn't committed their lives to Christ. There are those who go to church on Sunday and then serve the world the rest of the week. Either you are a part of the kingdom of God or you are a part of the world. It is impossible for a someone to serve two masters; so make your choice.

3-7-2010 The Hand of the Mediator
Job 9:33-35. Since the fall of man, we have been looking for all sorts of ways to make ourselves presentable before God. We live most of our lives trying to justify our sins before man. But only Jesus has the authority to be the Mediator between man and God. He is the only One who can put a hand on us and put a hand on God.

2-28-2010 The Walls of Jericho
The city of Jericho had high, impenetrable walls. When it came time for Joshua and the Israelites to take the city, they did it God's way instead of their own. As a result, the Israelites were victorious. Many people, when encountering Walls of Jericho during the course of their lives, will try to overcome the impossible task by themselves instead of turning to God. But through God the battle is already won.

2-10-2010 Joseph and Jesus
God is sovereign and in control; even when our circumstances want to tell us something else. Joseph's brothers betray him and sell him to merchants who were on their way to Egypt. His brothers ripped up his coat and stained it with goat's blood in order to fool their father Jacob into concluding that Joseph had been devoured by a wild animal. Jacob didn't see his son Joseph being eaten; his sons did not tell him that Joseph had been killed by anybody or anything. The only evidence before him was just a bloody coat. Pastor Joplin compares Jacob's behavior with ours when we assume, after experiencing some hard times, that all is lost and nothing is any longer worth fighting for.

2-7-2010 Blind Bartimaeus
When Bartimaeus heard the crowd approaching and learned that Jesus was the reason for the multitude of people coming his way, he began loudly calling for Him. Even when the spectators around Bartimaeus tried hushing him, he continued calling; until Jesus answered him. Pastor Joplin compares Bartimaeus' encounter with Jesus and subsequent healing with a person's life before and after surrendering it to God. -Outline from Calvin Evans sermon "A blind man's greatest hour".

1-31-2010 Theres Healing in the Jordan
Naaman was offended when he was told that he could find healing in a river that was dirty in comparison to the rivers of his own land. Naaman made the mistake of looking at the river instead of the God OF the river. There is still only one "river" where people can find healing, forgiveness, and hope. All roads do not lead to Heaven. There is only one way; and His name Jesus.

1-24-2010 A Royal Priesthood
1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God..." What exactly does it mean to us today that God has made us, as His people, a royal priesthood? Pastor Joplin preaches on the amazing responsiblities that have been handed to God's people. In Leviticus 21 God lists certain blemishes that would disqualify a man from performing the works of the priesthood. Pastor Joplin explains the spiritual applications from this passage in Leviticus and how they relate to us today as a "chosen people, a royal priesthood."

1-17-2010 Don t Throw in the Towel
Many people are close to "throwing in the towel" on their marriage, their faith, their jobs, their families, and their lives because they are allowing discouragement to direct their paths. In Luke 24 we see the biblical answer to destroying discouragment. If you're fighting discouragement just hang on brothers and sisters, God has an answer for you! 1-10-2010 You Must First Be Broken
When the Lord fed the 5000 men plus women and children He taught us something about being used for His purposes. First, He must have us. Second, He blesses us. Third, He breaks us; and fourth, He uses us. It is the third part of this process that we resist, but we must allow the Lord to break us of our pride, our selfish desires, and our fears before He can ever use us as He desires.

1-3-2010 The Balm of Gilead
When the prophet Jeremiah thought about the utter destruction and humiliation that the nation of Israel was enduring a thought came to his mind: "Is there no balm in Gilead?" Why did the weeping prophet's mind run back to this precious balm? There is still healing available for the wounded, the broken hearted, the deserted and destroyed. God is still on His throne and He is merciful and gracious. The information for this sermon came from the book "What a Wonderful World" by Dr. Calvin Ray Evans.

1-3-2010 Listen When God Calls on You - Br. Branson Sears
God can do amazing things through people whom you'd never suspect Him using. The attitude of many Christians, when they sense His calling, is one that expresses a feeling of unworthiness. The truth is we are all unworthy to be called His children. But we must lean on the grace of God and trust Him when He calls us that He will give us the strength to do whatever he asks of us.
